PROJECT OVERVIEW
This interactive quiz project was designed specifically for the South African market, where Sage provides several HR and Payroll solutions. The goal of the experience was to guide users through a streamlined user flow comprising a few key questions to identify the HR & Payroll solution that best fits their business needs.
AUDIENCE
This project targets the persona of small business owners and senior managers responsible for finance and/or human resources in the South African market. Since the quiz is hosted on Sage.com, its primary objective is to attract new customers by providing tailored product recommendations displayed as product cards on the final screens.
ROLES & RESPONSABILITIES
This experience was developed remotely and arose in the South African Marketing team. To restructure and establish the quiz score system, I worked closely with the Africa & Middle East Marketing Director, the HR & Payroll Marketing Manager and the Small Business Marketing Manager who have in-depth knowledge of the features of Sage products in their market and the needs of potential customers. For the implementation of the experience, I coordinated and assisted in the staging process with the Web Strategist and the Web Delivery team.
PROCESS
First, I worked on the information architecture and reorganized the content with a categorical approach so that the user could understand and navigate the questionnaire more clearly and intuitively.
I categorized the content on an affinity diagram and I recommended starting with the simplest questions and gradually moving towards the more complex ones. In addition, applying basic UX principles, I refined the wording of certain questions to minimize the possibility of negative answers and ensure clarity.
The quiz architecture was defined by working closely with South African PMMs (experts in the Sage products recommended at the end of the quiz).

In a second phase, I presented the final organization with a Tree Diagram to illustrate the structured architecture in more detail.
And when analyzing the information, I realized that by using a scoring system, almost all the user flows could be defined.
PROCESS AND APPROACH
Once the logics were defined, I designed the quiz screens in Figma, adhering to Sage’s design system to ensure consistency. Afterward, the quiz is built out on the Ceros platform. This end-to-end process enabled me to deliver a fully interactive and functional solution to the web delivery team.
SCORE SYSTEM
& TECHNICAL IMPLEMENTATION
The quiz logic uses a scoring system where each answer has a numerical value. These values are added up through an SDK script embedded in the custom HTML of the experience. Using the SDK’s event listeners, the total score determines the HR and payroll solution recommended to the user at the end of the quiz, based on their cumulative points within predefined ranges.
